  • Hawk capture efforts, Coralville, Iowa 2012 – Assisted in set up, capture and processing of red-tailed and rough-legged hawks for banding.

  • Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre, Winnipeg Manitoba, Canada 2011 – Assisted in set up, capture and processing of song birds for banding. Assisted in the setup of a new banding location.
  • University of Manitoba, Roth laboratory, Wapusk National Park, Canada 2011 – Performed 73 arctic and red fox necropsies examining all organs for parasites. Preformed intestinal squashes, scolex squashes and parasite identification, preservation and cataloging. Surveyed fox dens via snowmobile or ATV. (Photo taken by Olwyn Friesen)
  • Arctic Science Days, University of Manitoba/CEOS, FortWhyte Alive 2011 – Taught the arctic mammals section of the course.
  • Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Churchill, Manitoba, Canada 2011 – Assisted in ringed seal capture in Churchill, Manitoba. Documented data collected and assisted in handling and capture of animals. (Photo by Brent Young)
  • Winnipeg public elementary school system 2010, 2011 – Presented a short session to grades 1/2 and 3/4 about arctic food webs.
  • USGS/Biological Resource Department, Oliktok, Alaska 2009 – Assisted in polar bear research in northern Alaska. Performed all lab tech duties consisting of processing all samples, preparing surgical kits, and mixing drug.
  • National Park Service, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado- River Otter Survey (participated in surveys fall 2007 and spring 2009).
  • Wyoming Game and Fish, Medicine Bow, Wyoming 2008 - hunter check station (checked hunter licenses, aged harvested animals and collected tissues for Chronic Wasting Disease testing).
  • Happy Jack Recreational Area, Wyoming 2008 – participated in chipmunk demographic study with University of Wyoming Wildlife Management course. This study included small animal capture and data analysis.
